Discover the Second Story Studio, Marquette Michigan’s new hidden gem, where art, nature, and exploration unite. Tucked away on the second floor of a historic building, this intimate gallery offers a captivating journey into the wilderness through Kurt Babcock’s wildlife photography and Taryn Okesson’s textured acrylic paintings. Each piece is a testament to the raw energy and serenity of the natural world, inviting visitors to embrace the wonders that unfold at the intersection of art and life.

Kurt is involved with the local birding community and specializes in bird photography. Kurt has a technical background from his years working for AT&T. Taryn is a 2009 graduate of NMU’s Art and Design School and has received several awards for her art. Together they are opening a multi-use space and wish to offer some key services for their contemporaries going forward.
